I have been a Law Costs Draftsperson for over 15 years with a particular emphasis on publicly funded and Court of Protection matters. I now specialise in high costs matters and manage a team in the City of London office who deal with the preparation and submission of CCFS case plans.
Career
I joined Cost Law Services in September 2021, having worked initially for a small local costing firm and in more recent years, a national costing firm. During this time, I have worked with some of the largest Legal Aid providers in the country and conversely, much smaller providers. I pride myself on providing an equal service to all providers and optimising costs recovery.
During my costing career I have acquired a broad knowledge of Legal Aid and Court of Protection billing. In particular, preparing Bill of Costs, High Costs Case Plans (both hourly rates and CCFS), CLAIM1/1A, CCMS claims and processing matters for assessment. I have also dealt with inter partes matters including 6-column Legal Aid Bill of Costs, Replies to Points of Dispute, and negotiating settlement on behalf of the receiving party.
I am also responsible for the development of new processes and manuals, and providing training to fellow Costs Draftspersons.
Interests
Outside of work you will likely find me either with my three girls, at the gym, or watching some form of sport. I’m a diehard Formula 1 fan (go Lewis Hamilton!) and avid Arsenal supporter.
