I have 15 years’ experience of working within a very busy law firm. This included 18 months as a Clerical Assistant carrying out general admin duties and 14 years’ experience of working in a very busy costings department specialising in legal aid matters where I also gained competency in the utilisation of visual files.
Education
Whilst retraining I gained NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Business Administration, and Stage 2 RSA Integrated Technology. I also took part in Vision Computer Training in Information Technology which included Microsoft Office and Desktop Publishing. During this time I also gained a qualification in Basic Health and Safety.
Career
I have completed two work experience placements carrying out general admin duties. I worked for eight months as a Voluntary Generalist Advisor with the Citizens Advice Bureau giving advice in person or on the telephone for a wide range of subjects specialising in immigration. I then worked at a law firm where I gained experience within the legal aid processes that included lodging bills at court, drafting assessment certificates and submitting solicitor final axed claims via CCMS. I also submitted POA’s for profit costs and disbursements for all departments within the firm.
